How to Ask for an Email in Facebook Group Questions
An email question should answer the member's first thought: why do you need my address? Give them a clear benefit and tell them what they can expect.
Weak wording
“What is your email?” gives the person little reason to answer and leaves the next step unclear.
Clearer wording
“Want the group starter checklist? Leave your best email and I will send it to you.” This connects the address to a specific delivery.
If you plan ongoing email
Say so. For example, explain that the resource also comes with your weekly tips if that is what you intend to send. Clear expectations are better for the member and better for list quality.
Keep admission separate where appropriate
A person can be a good group member even if they skip the email offer. Make email a condition of admission only when your community genuinely requires it.
Test the offer, not just the wording
If few people want to share an address, the problem may be the resource rather than the sentence. Improve the value and relevance of what you are offering.
